This tribute to Rod was co written by John Grimshaw and JC and Angelina, and I am informed was partialy inspired by some of Rods poetry.
On a visit to Isle of Wight in 2001 I met up with the Grimshaws at one of their gigs which took place at the Fishermans cottage on Shanklin beach. Rod, before departing for Australia, regularly played with this energetic duo on the Island who's music is an exceptional cross between Cajun, Folk and Hard Hitting Blues. Their performance of 'The Ballad of Rod Garfield' was one not to be missed along with a myriad of their other self penned material. An excellent evening.
